TEXAS MUSCLE CAR CLUB CHALLENGE SERIES
The goal of the Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge Series (TMCCC) is to provide a racing venue for people who want to race for fun. It is a club against club event racing for points. A Challenge Committee representing the clubs will meet periodically and decide how many races to run each year, where to run, the structure of the program and these rules.
RACING CLASSES:
NOTE: Line Locks are to be used only for burn outs and tire prep but not for launch control. Vehicles are subject to tech inspection at any time. During eliminations, no external device, such as a laptop computer, which can actually change rev limits, fuel management, or any other operating characteristic of the car can be installed or plugged into the cars computer unless that car runs in the Electronics Class. Record only devices are permitted. Laptop computers must be removed prior to run for safety reasons.
RULES
CONSOLATION RACE
In order to run in the Consolation Race, a racer must have lost in one of the first two rounds of eliminations. Each club may pick two cars from among those racers who lost in one of the first two rounds or eliminations to compete in the class. You must sign up for this race. This race will start at the end of the third round of class eliminations. Electronic or Outlaw cars cannot run in this class. You must be a member of a car club to run in this race. The tower will announce the location of the sign-up sheet. No points will be awarded to clubs or participants in this class.
DRIVER REWARDS PROGRAM
While the Challenge events are primarily club against club events, a Driver Reward Program is available to recognize individual racers and encourage racers to run as many Challenges as possible. One must sign up for this program within the first two races each year. See separate rules or contact a committee member to find out more about the Driver Reward Program. There is a $20.00 annual charge to be a member of the Driver Reward Program. You can read more on the Driver Reward page at TMCCC.org

RULES
- To participate in the eliminations, a racer must belong to a car club. Anyone can run time trials.
- All racers and their cars must adhere to NHRA/IHRA safety rules. Some of these safety rules are:
NHRA Basic Safety Rules can be found HERE:
- Helmets are required for all racers running 13.99 or faster, (¼ mile). However, helmets are strongly recommended for all racers.
- Long pants and shirts with sleeves are required for all racers. i.e. no shorts or tank tops
- Seat belts are required for all cars.
- Battery tie downs and radiator overflow jugs are required for all cars.
- Convertibles must run with top up for any car with an ET of 12.99 or faster, (¼ mile).
- Driveshaft loops are required for cars running 12.99 or faster (¼ mile) and all cars running slicks.
- Cars cannot outrun their required safety equipment. If a track official or TMCCC official is notified that a car’s speed or ET has exceeded its required safety equipment, i.e. roll bar, fire jacket, helmet, etc., during time trials, that car may be disqualified.
Note: Many tracks will give a driver on warning during time trials, however, the car will be disqualified it if happens during eliminations. - No “Stripe Takers” permitted.
- Racers are picked for a bye-run “if” one develops. If you are picked for a bye-run and you end up racing someone, that bye does not carry to the next round. Track personnel according to each track’s established method will pick bye-runs and vehicle pairing for eliminations. No TMCCC member or competitor at a TMCCC race is allowed to pair cars or pick bye runs.
- You can bring two cars to the event and drive both of them as long as you buy two tech cards and race the cars in separate classes.
- You cannot run the same car in two separate classes at the same race.
- If the car that you race in a particular class breaks down and you substitute another vehicle, you accumulate points in the class that the substitute vehicle qualifies in i.e. if you run in King and substitute a slower vehicle, that vehicle has to run in its qualified class.
- Cars cannot be substituted for any class once eliminations have begun, i.e. if your car breaks down you cannot run another vehicle.
- There are no buy backs at TMCCC events.
- Race numbers belong to the driver, not the car.
- Driver aids such as, traction control, launch control or two step control are not allowed on any vehicle with the exception of cars in Electronic or Outlaw Muscle classes.

HOW TO ACCUMULATE POINTS
- Your club’s letter is used to accumulate points for your club. Each driver in your club must show the club letter behind the car number and on the windshield. This is the only way we can keep track of points for your club. Your club can obtain a letter at the track by simply telling the tech inspector the name of your club at the time you car is teched. It is best if your club requests a letter before the day of the event by calling Robert Vaughan at 972/998-7381 or e-mailing him at rev383@yahoo.com. Once your club has obtained a letter, it is valid as long as you run Challenge events.
- Points are awarded during eliminations as follows:
- A driver earns 1 point for each round, win or lose, up to the semi-final round. (Ardmore will be considered a long distance race and you will get 4 points for your first round pass).
- In the semi-final round, the winner(s) (who will go on the final round), earn(s) 1 point and the loser(s), who are the semi-finalists, each earn 2 points.
- In the final round, the winner earns 5 points and the runner-up earns 3 points.
- Your individual points will go to the class in which you race at that particular event. At the end of the year, all of your points will be combined for driver’s standings. If you race in King 2 races and Super in the remaining races, you will have points in each class to go towards the class winner, but the points will be combined for your total points).
- A racer who races in 9 out of 10 or 8 out of 9, etc. races receives 5 bonus points. These are the only bonus points available.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question:
What happens if the race is rained out?
Answer:The committee and track personnel will schedule a race date later in the season. If the race is interrupted during eliminations, the race will pick up where it left off at the time of the interruption. In the event of a rainout that cannot be re-scheduled, the racing season will have fewer races that year.
Question:What happens if I discover that I am going to run someone in my own club during eliminations?
Answer:Every effort will be made to avoid pairing 2 cars from the same club to run in eliminations until they have too. However, it is the responsibility of the driver to make sure that they are not running against someone from their own club.
